Plain White T’s - Hey There Delilah.

 This takes me back.

Back to my college dorm room when “First” boy and “First” boy’s friend put on an acoustic “concert” for me before we started dating & this one of the songs they put on their “setlist.”
Back to the concert we had the first month of college with Paramore, Plain White T’s, Simple Plan, & I don’t even remember who else.
Back to roadtripping to Gustavus college for a Plain White Ts concert where there ended up being, like, 30 people at, and spending most of the other bands’ sets at the PWT’s merch table chattin it up with Tom, De’Mar and (*gasp*) Tim— wondering why oh why Tim couldn’t be single! haha
Back to planning for Warped Tour months ahead of time, carefully calculating which bands were officially scheduled for “our stop.” And being super stoked to spend all day on the tar-mat in the blistering heat; dehydrated and sunburnt at the end of the day, but not caring one bit because we got some awesome pics and videos…got that band shirt we were wanting, and got to meet (or re-meet) some of our favorite bands.
Back to when you heard “Hey There Delilah” and you wanted to BE “Delilah.”
When the song didn’t annoy you because you’d heard it on the radio about a million times.
Back when it was something special…when you heard it and it made you ache.
Back to when we could enjoy life…and did.

I look back now, and feel like I don’t even know who that person is anymore.
